June 9, 2010. Wednesday. Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino and Jejomar Binay are officially proclaimed President and Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines. Noynoy got votes of 15,208,678 while binay garnered 14,645,574 votes. Congratulations to both of you.
"I am determined to continue the fight started by my father and my mother to see that democracy takes root and is strengthened in our country. This cannot happen in a government that serves the interest of the powerful few. We must strengthen the institutions of government so that they truly serve the interests of our people."
Oh well, The whole nation is your responsibility now and we do hope you'll serve the country well with integrity and honesty. Our country badly needs change. God bless our country in a major way.
